Floating…
August 9th, 2007
New look, feels like a breath of fresh air. Now this is completely ran by WordPress and will be a lot easier to update.
Two days ago I upgraded the ram on my laptop from 256 mb to 2 gb and man.. I used to sit and watch the process window slowly progress in photoshop. Work that should have only taken 15-20 minutes to do, took hours. But now I’m just slicing through and it seems like the processor is having trouble keeping up.
I’m also getting back into the habit of waking up early. Woke up at 7 am today, took the dog outside and noticed the beautiful morning after the storm last night. There were still dark clouds on one side of the sky, but the sun was bright on the opposite side. Birds were chirpin, trees were dripping rainwater. The air was cool but humid and tasted like rain. Everything seemed so green, sharp, and contrasted.
I used to wake up at 7 am everyday. Then I moved in with John, we got married, he liked to stay up late. I couldn’t fall asleep when I wanted to because I’m a light sleeper and we don’t have a door to the bedroom (anymore). Then he stopped staying up and it’s been so much easier on me. I also read this article at ZenHabits, on how to do it. I think the earliest I’d want to wake up is 5. And it really is wonderful for me. I love watching the morning progress. It really is quiet and I get a lot done. Working out is easier beacuse there’s nothing that can come up and there’s no excuse not to. After I get everything done, I still have the rest of the day.
